Cost Control Engineer

Project to Credit  Kuwait Cancer Center (172 Million KD Project) Accomplishments:  Handpicked to lead cost control efforts for the Kuwait Cancer Center project, a mega construction venture.  Spearheaded and mastered diverse tasks within the role, demonstrating meticulous attention to details and an analytical mindset. Key Responsibilities:  Budget Management: Analyzed and reported monthly budget updates, meticulously comparing planned versus actual expenditures. Provided real-time budget status reports, identifying potential risks and proposing corrective actions or future forecast adjustments.  Resource Monitoring: Oversaw monthly resources allocation (Manpower and Equipment) to prevent project cost overruns and ensure budget adherence.  Daily Monitoring: Generated Daily Running Cost Reports, cross-referencing with Daily Equipment and Manpower Reports to assure effective monitoring & controlling. Verified Daily Site Activities and ensured accurate cost code assignments.  Contract Analysis: Scrutinized New Package's Contracts, Scope of Works, and BOQ against project BOQ to maintain accurate budget allocation & control and to avoid surprises or out of scope items.  Site Engagement: Conducted weekly site visits to gain accurate insight into construction, maintenance and finishes activities, also to monitor site progress, and work quality.  Subcontracts Monitoring: Evaluated back charges to subcontractors and collaborated with the QS Department to deduct these charges from the subcontractor payments.  Cost Control Expertise: Proficiently employed cost coding methodologies (Manpower, Equipment, Materials, Contracts, etc.) based on CSI Codes along with precisely implementing daily cost monitor & control procedures. 

Materials Management: Validated Materials Requisitions and storage issuing tickets, ensuring accurate cost code assignment for all materials and fostering organized site store operations.  Materials Procurement: Stepped up & supported the Materials/Procurement department and coordinated some urgent materials purchases as needed.  Financial Optimization: Strategically succeeded in obtaining project credits by accounting for works performed for other projects, controlling and deducting transferred materials, monitoring QC and QS Concrete Casting Logs to minimize concrete wastage and recommending material scrap sales.  Payroll Accuracy: Secured precise monthly Time Sheet checking to prevent errors and maintain a well-controlled monthly payroll.  Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborated closely with multiple departments including QS/Contracts, Materials & Procurement, Store, Timekeepers, and Site, facilitating comprehensive project control.  Special Projects: Remotely supported other projects such as Hessa Tower & Byout Hessa Projects, showcasing adaptability and a commitment to organizational success. Additionally, managed some tasks related to tendering, claims, organization cost control procedures development & construction equipment rental studies.  Productivity Enhancement: Conducted occasional cost estimations and productivity measurements to align with project requirements.  Facility Management: Holding passion and some basic knowledge about sustainable operations and facility management services that can be developed with some expert guidance a long with utilizing my solid engineering management & construction experience to exceed expectations and continuously improve productivity, reliability, and costs of facilities.
