I (SHAHZADANDEEM) am graduate civil engineerresiding in Kuwait since 2004 and have more than 23 years’ experience in sitesupervision of vide range of building construction projects.

My tenure as a Resident Engineer atOption One International Architecture and Engineering Consultant Kuwait hasequipped me with invaluable expertise in overseeing high-value projects,ensuring on-schedule completion within or below budget constraints. Notable amongthese projects are the Al Sebeih Hospital in Salmiya, Renovation of Souk AlKout in Fahaheel, and the Delta Serviced Apartments at Saba Al Salem, eachrequiring astute project management, technical proficiency, and meticulousattention to detail.

 My responsibilities spannedfrom providing comprehensive direction to construction projects, establishingrobust project execution plans, monitoring contractual obligations, andcollaborating seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams. These experiences have honedmy skills in risk management, problem-solving, and effective communication,enabling me to navigate complex challenges and deliver exceptional resultsconsistently.

Projects Description:
1-Al Sebeih Hospital Salmiya, Kuwait (July 2019 –Till Date)
A project of cost KD 5.5 million KD consisting of structural works, architectural finishes, MEP and Medical services having 10 floors with two basements.
2-Renovation Souk Al Kout” North Pier” Fahaheel(For Tamdeen): (June 2016-May2019).
A project of KD 2.5 million. It is an up-gradation and rehabilitation of existing Shopping Mall know as Souk Al Kout. Scope of work includes new stone flooring, new gypsum board/GRG ceiling, aluminum composite cladding to existing skylight transom and mullions, merging small restaurants to have big luxury restaurants, replacing external ceramic tiles with new stone flooring, replacing existing brass handrails with new glass handrails, scrub/scratch existing paint and apply new paint system, up-gradation of toilets, prayer rooms, and electrical low voltage system.
3- Delta Serviced Apartments at Saba Al Salem (For Tamdeen): (From July 2015-June,2016).
A project cost KD 5 million having two similar buildings each with 5 floors including basement and swimming pools. Scope of works included excavation, backfilling for the building structure, shoring & dewatering, sub super concrete structure including precast concrete, hard &soft landscape, waterproofing, termite control, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, aluminum cladding, masonry units, stonework, thermal and moisture insulation, external rendering, architectural finishes, doors, windows, curtain wall system, drywall system, gypsum board and GRG ceiling. Mechanical (HVAC, Plumbing, and fire protection) and Electrical.
4-Al Humaidhi Restaurant And Coffee Shops at Abu Fatira (For Artaal): (From Oct,2014-July,2015).
A project of cost about K.D 3 million consisting of restaurants, coffee shops, car parking, elevator lobbies, basement and state of the art landscape comprising fountains and planters.
5- Wafra Tower at Jabriya: (From June,2012-Oct,2014).
A Fifteen storey residential tower of cost 2.7 million consisting of a basement and two swimming pools on an area of 2000m2.
6- British Industries Printing Press at Subhan (From August,2010May,2012).
A two-story industrial building consisting of both steel and concrete structure over an area of 2000M.
7- Fawaz Al Hasawi Mansion at Masila Beach(From May,2009August,2010)
A project of concrete structure spread over an area of 3400sq.m, consisting of three stories with two basements and a swimming pool.
8- Yacoob Tower For Thulth ALmahroum Yacoob Behbehani at Salmiya (From June,2007May,2009) A twenty-story residential tower of cost 2.4 million KD consisting of concrete structure, basement, swimming pool at the top, curtain walls and with high class of all types of finishing work.

Responsibilities as an Engineer's Representative: -
* Provides overall direction and management of the construction project, monitors on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations; and monitors risks/problems and helps develop options to resolve.
* Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health& Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents required from the construction contractor.
* With the Discipline Lead Engineers, monitors the execution of the technical, financial and administrative functions of the construction contract. Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
* Discusses the qualifications required of the key project positions in specific detail with the senior managers. Collaborates with head office staff to address project requirements.
* Collaborate with the client, the contractor, other managers, project engineers, and discipline to coordinate budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
* Collaborate with the key project and construction contractor individuals to monitor action plans to rectify potential construction cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and other team members of any such changes. Responsible to oversee coordination with the Contracts Management and Project Controls Groups and any client sub-contractors to maintain current and timely change orders.
* Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through the application of Quality Assurance processes. Monitors and reports on the progress of all project activity including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Establishes weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.

Responsibilities as Senior Civil Engineer: -
Monitor/Supervise the structure which is being constructed at each stage and verify that the contractor's work complies with the requirements of the drawings, specification, relevant codes and standards.
* Check the shop drawings of the contractor as per the contract drawings and ensure that the contractors approved shop drawing, method statements, quality control procedures and safety plans are being implemented on-site.
* Coordinate/Check that requirements of other disciplines are coordinated and incorporated in the civil/structural works.
* Inspect the work at each stage of construction, advise the contractor of non-conforming work.
* Request the supplementary design information if the original information is not clear or missing.
* Reviews and approval of the Contractor's payment. ? Reviews and approval of materials submitted by the contractor.
* Order laboratory testing of materials as required by the specification and relevant standards. Record and review results. Order removal of non-compliant materials.
* Review and comment on daily and monthly progress reports.
* Issue non-conformance notes and Job site instruction as per the requirements.
* Witness pouring of concrete, onsite testing of materials and record results (slump test, cube tests on concrete and compaction tests on soil/subgrade).
* Prepare snag list at end of the project.
